The annual BCMS Costume Ball will be held Friday, October 28 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the middle school.  The event is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

Since we will be celebrating the fall season with a costume ball, costumes are mandatory for all students! Activities include

  • a haunted house in the basement
  • doughnut eating contest
  • dancing in the cafeteria
  • basketball in the lower gym
  • carnival games in the upper gym
  • horror movies in the auditorium
  • face painting, and many other events in different locations around the building!

Admission to the BCMS Costume Ball is $5.00.  Students can purchase a wrist band on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, Oct. 26-28 during their lunch periods the week of the event.  These wrist bands will be the student’s admission to the party.  Wrist bands should be purchased prior to the event; only students with wrist bands will be admitted!  Also please note, only BCSD students will be allowed to attend this function.  All proceeds will support the P.E program, BCMS Garden Club, and other teams or departments in the building.

A few important notes for families:

Drop-off

This is a building-wide event for all students.  Carpooling for student drop off and pick-up is highly encouraged.  Students will be allowed to enter the event through the front entrance and the Patroon House new wing entrance.  Parking cones will be used to create two single lines, one around the front circle and another around the Patroon entrance.  Chaperones will be moving cars forward around these areas to allow for quick drop-off.

Pick-up

All students will be released at 8:30 p.m.  Parents will not be allowed to come into the building to find their child during the event.  If you need to pick your child up early, your child will need to meet you at one of the entrance location at a designated time.  We will not have staff on hand to seek your child out, so coordinate your plan accordingly.  Along the same lines, please establish a meeting point for your child (and hopefully a bunch of their friends as well) at the 8:30 dismissal.  The large parking lot near the LMC will be open for pick-up parking.

Chaperones

We will need many chaperones for this event.  If you have not signed up through the PTO already, please consider helping out on the 28th.  This is sure to be loads of fun and a great opportunity to see your child and his/her friends in their social element.

Costume Guidelines

This is a school sponsored event and all costumes must be appropriate in terms of our dress code in the school code of conduct. Costume accessories should not be pointed, sharp or include any kind of weapon (real or fake).
