The Bethlehem Central School District’s Green Team has again partnered with the Town of Bethlehem and the Delmar Farmers Market to hold the town’s Fourth Annual America Recycles Day Collection Event on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem Central Middle School.
This event is part of “Re-Clothe NY”— an EPA award-winning statewide environmental campaign reminding residents to recycle all unwanted clothing, footwear, and other textiles such as sheets, towels, tablecloths, underwear and single socks.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the district’s environmental programs directly through the Green Team’s initiatives. (Read about the Green Team and their initiatives here.)
This event will feature a clothing and other textile recycling collection open to all capital region residents, and this year it will also include a book reuse/recycling collection and secure document shredding. Shredding is limited to Town of Bethlehem residents and BCSD taxpayers with ID; with a maximum of 3 medium-sized boxes per household. Local charity Grassroots Givers will cull the collected books for reusable titles before the remaining books are recycled. They have a particular need for children’s books, though all books may be brought to the collection.
**Please note: we will NOT be collecting electronics at this event.
Join us this year:
Sat., Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Delmar Farmers Market, Bethlehem Central Middle School parking lot, 332 Kenwood Ave, Delmar NY 12054.
