At its January 17 meeting, the Bethlehem Central Board of Education appointed retired teacher and former administrator Dave Palmer as Interim K-12 English Language Arts (ELA) supervisor. He will join the district for the second semester of this year as former Supervisor Andy Baker continues serving as interim principal at Elsmere Elementary.
Palmer is a familiar face to the district where he taught for 16 years before retiring in June 2016. During that time, he assumed many roles including assistant principal and interim hall principal at the middle school.
The K-12 supervisors are responsible for coordinating the development, revision and implementation of curriculum to meet the changing needs of students. Additionally, they oversee faculty and assist in developing practices to meet varying individual and group needs.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Palmer back to the district and to our administrative team,” said Superintendent Jody Monroe. “His commitment to teaching along with his respect for students and colleagues make him a wonderful addition to the supportive atmosphere here at Bethlehem.”
