The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has canceled the June 2020 Regents exams. Education officials also announced that students in these classes will be able to receive Regents credit if they successfully complete course requirements including assignments during remote learning. The district’s instructional leaders have been reviewing the guidance provided by NYSED and will continue to do so throughout the week. Full details on how these decisions at the state level will be implemented in the district will be provided to staff, students and parents in the coming days.
The district expanded its online instruction beginning March 30. It is important that students follow the instruction timeline and materials being provided by their teachers. Middle school students receive information from their team teachers and high school students receive course information from course teachers. For students in grades K-5, that information can be found here.
The district can assist any student or family experiencing any kind of difficulties during this time. Students or families are encouraged to reach out to their teacher or to their school counselor.
