Parents of high school and middle school students will be able to pick up student medications that were left at school, according to the following schedule:
- BCHS families only: Thursday, May 21 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at BCHS
- BCMS families only: Wednesday, May 27 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at BCHS
The pick-up location for both schools will take place at the high school, on the Van Dyke Road side of the school near the cafeteria.
The medication pick-up will be staffed by the school nurse team. The process for pick-up is outlined below:
- Parents should pull up to the high school outside the cafeteria (see map below) where they will be greeted by a nurse who will be stationed outside. Do not park or exit your vehicle at this time.
- The nurse will ask the student’s name and will use a walkie talkie to relay the student name to a nurse team stationed in the cafeteria.
- The student’s school nurse will pull the child’s medication and give it to a nurse colleague who will bring the medication outside and place it on a cart in front of the parent’s car. The parent will then exit the car and pick up the medication from the cart. All medications will be bagged for easy pick-up.
- All nurses who staff the medication pick-up will be wearing appropriate PPE.
- All meds picked up will be documented in the student’s electronic health record.
- Any parent who cannot pick up their medications as scheduled is encouraged to email your school nurse to make other arrangements.
